Maile Jachowski, M.D.
Founder / Program & Curriculum Developer
NativeFit was created and developed by Dr. Maile Apau Jachowski, M.D., a Native Hawaiian physician, educator, and mother of five. She is an experienced clinical pediatrician, Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, prior medical director of Kamehameha Schools (largest Native Hawaiian school system), and completed a community health fellows program at Stanford University School of Medicine. She is an ACE Certified Health Coach and Personal Trainer, an AFAA Certified Group Exercise Instructor, and a YogaFit Certified Instructor. After spending years working on the disease side of medicine - and experiencing the devastating consequences of preventable lifestyle diseases on family, friends, and patients - she created NativeFit. She uses the power of culture and community to bring sustainable, health-oriented solutions to the serious problem of lifestyle diseases for people of all ages.
